I have created a this mood board which shows my inspirations and ideas about what the music video will be based on and what concept I want it to be about.

Many of my ideas revolve around a dark, gothic fantasy like the movie ‘Twilight’, ‘Van Helsing’, ‘Hansel & Gretel’ and etc. This is because I personally enjoy this genre as well as this genre’s being really popular amongst my target audience group which is teenager up to 19. I think this genre is popular amongst teenagers as this is something different and original which makes it more entertaining, amusing and always drawn to it as you don’t know what's going to happen, whereas in a reality based movie/video it can be very cliché and predictable.

I am also inspired by horror movies as the element of shock in this genre is very enticing and exciting for the viewers, therefore I want to surprise and use some elements of a horror movie in my music video. Also many recent horror movies used the element where they lead the audience to believe the cliché will happen, such as the ‘ghost’ will pop up with the use of the sound track building up or the movement of the camera representing what an actor see’s, but then something else happens which keeps the audience guessing and anticipating. As a result, I want to use the element of shock and also make it unpredictable. 

I also like the concepts of these music videos; Michel Jackson –Thriller and Timberland- Morning after dark. I like both of these as they use the dark fantasy concept using characters such as: zombies, ghost, vampires and etc. This makes the video very entertaining as it is like a movie. Unlike ordinary music video which usually portray some sort of love story, these video’s are like a short movie using an abstract form. As the video ‘Thriller’ used the theme fantasy/horror first in a music video, it made it really popular and very well-known globally. Therefore, having a concept like this will make my music video different which would make more people want to watch it.
